Features Overview

Recall provides a complete workflow for legal research and document drafting. Available on macOS and Windows. This page summarizes all major features.

Deployment Modes

Recall can run in two modes depending on your needs:

  • Entirely Local — All AI processing and data storage happens on your machine. No server or internet required.
  • Backend from Server — Connect to a shared server for team collaboration, centralized document management, and organization-wide access.

You configure the deployment mode during first launch or from the Connection Settings dialog.

Accounts & Organizations

When running in server mode, Recall supports user accounts and organizations.

  • Registration & Login — Create an account with a display name, email, and password. Invite-gated registration ensures only authorized users can join.
  • Organizations — Each user belongs to an organization. Organizations isolate data so your matters and documents are separate from other teams.
  • Logout — Sign out from the settings popup menu.

In local mode, no account is required.
